4th of July Parade

Chico’s second annual downtown 4th of July parade commemorates America’s 249th celebration of independence from that king across the pond. This family-friendly, free event is sponsored by Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD). Expect to see a procession of patriotic floats, with some vehicles, marchers and cyclists in DIY displays. Chico Velo will provide bicycle valet starting at 8am, plus other bike friendly events after the parade. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Paradise Symphony Orchestra Presents: Honoring Our Country

The celebration continues with two free concerts. PSO’s full orchestra will be performing classic Independence Day favorites. Plus, performances are scheduled to include the Paradise Community Chorus, Scottish Society Bagpipes & Drums, Veterans Color Guard and Northern California Ballet. Golden Beaver Distillery’s Park Avenue Still House offers a tasting room, distillery, restaurant and live entertainment all rolled into one. The July 4th celebration is a family-friendly event that includes a traditional cookout of hamburgers & hot dogs, a mix of bluegrass/folk/country/rock music by the Still House Band, and possibly a view of the fireworks going off across the road at Silver Dollar Speedway, 30 minutes after sunset.
