Much Ado About Nothing

The setting for this beloved Shakespeare comedy moves from the end of the 16th century in Sicily to the end of World War II in America. Chico’s Legacy Stage is continuing the tradition of Shakespeare in the Park with a story that tells of love, wit and misunderstandings. Different pre-show performances each night, starting at 7pm. The Motet (shown here), known for groove-heavy performances at sold-out shows across the nation, are returning to Chico. Add the vocal powerhouse Sarah Clarke and release of their 10th studio album Love Time, this crew performs a seamless blend of funk, soul, jazz, afrobeat and rock. Opening the show are Chicoans Webster Moore and band, known to deliver a rich blend of R&B/soul, acoustic hip hop, jazz, and funk. The gangsta rap/West Coast hip-hop style of RBL Posse (full name: Ruthless by Law) emerged in the 1990s evolving rap culture of the Hunters Point neighborhood in San Francisco. Mac Mall is a Bay Area rap legend, known for his gritty, yet melodic style rooted in West Coast hip hop, gangsta rap and San Francisco-style mobb music. This high-energy bluegrass quartet hails from Grass Valley but they’re enthusiastically embraced by Chico’s music scene. Rise of the Pride Burlesque

The Malteazers are Chico’s beloved burlesque troupe who are continuing the celebration of Pride month with a show that benefits Stonewall Alliance of Chico. Hosts include Willow Wallflower and Miss Dee, promising performances that include artistry, empowerment, and a little wackiness in an air-conditioned venue.
