Bullshot Crummond
Fri June 6-15; Fridays & Saturdays 7:30pm; Sundays 2:00pm
Theatre on the Ridge
3735 Neal Road, Paradise
Set in 1930s England, the play follows the dim-witted yet self-assured Captain Hugh “Bullshot” Crummond, a World War I ace and part-time sleuth. When the daughter of a science professor hires Crummond to rescue her kidnapped father from nefarious forces, she’s unaware of his ineptitude. Dirty Cello
Sat June 7, 8:00pm
The Commons Social Empourium
2412 Park Ave.
Forget for one moment Johann Sebastian Bach’s fascination with the cello in the early 1700s. Fast-foward to the Dirty Cello band’s 21st century take on how to handle that instrument. And you’ll also hear guitar, bass, violin, mandolin and drums in the mix. According to one reviewer “Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky, carnival, romantic, sexy, tangled, electric, fiercely rhythmic, and textured, and only occasionally classical.” The free show is this Bay Area band’s first performance in Chico. Willkommen. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.
