Got a spare 20 minutes?

The Chico Art Center is putting its purpose on display. The community school offers many art classes, and one of its long-running offerings, the community Portraiture Drawing Group, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with an exhibit in the center’s gallery that includes live-drawing “sit ins.” Members of the public are invited to visit during the sit-in and pose (for approximately 20 minutes) for a portrait by the group’s members. For a suggested donation, models can pick one of the drawings to take home.

There’s already been one sit-in this month, and samples from the session are on the walls as part of the current Portrait Practice exhibit featuring works by the group’s artists. A reception for the show will take place this Friday, Feb. 10, 5-7 p.m. and the next sit-in takes place Feb. 18, 1-3 p.m.

If you’re an artist interested in the Portraiture Drawing Group, members will be hosting a “draw in,” with supplies provided, on Feb. 22, 1-3 p.m.

The show runs through Feb. 27.
