Chico State’s College of Humanities and Fine Arts presents their adaptation of this Caryl Churchill play. Marlene is a business-driven woman, hosting a dinner party with a selection of notable guests: historical, mythical and fictional women. The drama explores ambition, family dynamics, sacrifice and the politics of gender while delivering a powerful message. Tickets $22 adults, $20 senior, $10 for youth and Chico State students.

Four on the Floor – Birthday Bash!

Rock ‘n’ roll through the night with musical faves from the 1960s through today. Chico band Four on the Floor covers classic hits from the golden age with a focus on rock, jazz, church, improvisation and moody soul. This event is extra special as three of the band mates, Jeff, Dave and Katie are celebrating their birthdays. $5 cash cover – tips are encouraged.

Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley

This Grammy-nominated duo melds blues, bluegrass, country, rock and other string band sounds making their own signature musical blend. Dobro master Ickes and guitar picking Hensley are Americana personified in both music and character. Menopause The Musical 2: Cruising Through ‘The Change’

Join the sisterhood in this sequel to the original smash-hit musical. Set to a parody of classic tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s, these four ladies find friendship and a common bond in their experiences of womanhood. Men, don’t get scared away from this hilarious performance while gaining a little more insight into the women in your life. Tickets $38-$58; $17 for youth age 17 and under and Chico State students.

Ballyhoo!, Cydeways and The Harbor Boys

Get immersed in a mix of ska-fueled punk, beach rockers and alternative reggae with these three bands. Ballyhoo! (pictured) started out in brothers Howi and Donald Spangler’s basement, inspired by Green Day and Nirvana. Santa Barbara based Cydeways fuses together rock and reggae. The Harbor Boys hail from Baltimore, Maryland, and charge their shows with high-energy reggae performances. Check the Chico News & Review calendar for more information.
