Once Upon A Mattress

This fun, comedic musical is a satire of the classic fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. Due to a mysterious curse, no one in the kingdom can marry until Prince Dauntless does. But to the dismay of eager princesses seeking suitors, the prince’s overbearing mother has rigged an impossible test so her timid son will remain single. The original 1959 Broadway production was one of the first stage performances by actress/comedian Carol Burnett, who starred as Princess Winnifred. 2026 Wildflower WildFest & Ride

What started 45 years ago as a small event with a dedicated group of serious cyclists, the Wildflower quickly appeared on the radar and map of well-known cycling events throughout the West. The Sunday ride continued to grow in size, adding a community-friendly WildFest celebration on Saturday. This year’s free event on April 25 includes: live music from Another Mellow June and the Ivy Flats; Food and beverage booths, including Sierra Nevada on tap; specialty vendors and plenty of Wildflower merch; All-ages bike rodeo and other events. Freestone—live music

Lace up your Converse and bring your love of 90s grooves and good vibes with original music from this live rock ensemble. Freestone is led by local frontman Tim Parsons, who credits the group’s influences from artists such as The Black Crowes, and local legends The Mother Hips. The upcoming show is a return to a fan-favorite venue, taking a break from recording new, original material in their studio. This is a free, all-ages show. Rash: A Rush Tribute

Rush has been one of those bands on the cultural zeitgeist, creating equal parts undeniable earworm, and motivational beats contained in its rocking lyrics. And now, tribute band Rash is looking to remind you why you’ll never forget their live music performance. Formed in 2008, the Bay Area-based band is devoted to make each show a greatest-hits list from the iconic 1970s Canadian rock outfit. Fiona Grey with Samaria

Glam pop star Fiona Grey (shown here) is making her first appearance in Chico as part of her Tantrum Ball Tour. Named “Best Pop Artist in LA”, this tour features Grey’s immersive, theatrical, live performance style bringing influences by such talents as Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey. Opening the show is Chico’s own Samaria, bringing her self-described soul-soaked voice blending a set of funky classics combining jazz, funk and soul. This performer has gained popularity both solo, and with other musicians, starting in 2015 with shows at venues such as Chico’s Thursday Night Market. Tickets online. This show is 21 and over.
