Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

This Broadway hit musical is based on the biblical story of Joseph and his 11 brothers. The gifting of a beautiful coat to Joseph from their father ignites a series of events fueled by jealousy, betrayal, fraud and even human trafficking. While in exile, Joseph develops the coveted ability to interpret dreams which then sends him on a new course. The story of redemption and forgiveness is woven around the music and lyrics of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. Tickets are $27-$40. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Perennial, Shooting Losers, & Oblong

Perennial is on their “Art History” tour with a stop in Chico. This trio blends art‑punk, dance‑punk/post‑hardcore and mod‑pop. Joining them is Chico’s Shooting Losers (shown here), with their own recent album release, It’s all been such a drag. Expect a blend of punk and indie/punk rock. Dysfunctional Friday Comedy

Transcendent Comedy presents returning host Jessy Jaymes with her crew of stand-up comics. This month it’s Mishee McGee, Jacob McClain, Kendrick Williams and headliner Tess Tickles (shown here). Jackie Greene Band & Dylan’s Dharma — it’s a Vectors Benefit

If you missed last month’s Jackie Greene performance in Chico, you’re in luck now. The Jackie Greene Band brings their Americana/roots rock to the outdoor almond orchard venue known as OrchardRock (aka End of Normal). Dylan’s Dharma is a Chico-based roots/reggae-rock band with a rotating number of band members. Proceeds from Tickets go to VECTORS (Veteran Executive Committee to Organize Rehabilitative Services), a local organization providing services to homeless veterans. Los Caballitos de la Canción

The Paradise Party in the Park Music & Marketplace
event is presented every Wednesday during the summer in Paradise. As a free community celebration, it’s open to the public and includes vendors, live music and other entertainment, demonstrations and more. This week’s band performing on the gazebo-covered stage is Los Caballitos de la Canción (shown here). This local group blends traditional and contemporary styles from Mexico, South America, and Spain—all very danceable. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.
