12th Annual Chico Art Festival

Sponsored by the Chico Visual Arts Alliance (CHIVAA), the festival showcases local artists in the garden setting of the grounds at St. John’s. You’ll also experience musicians, dancers and more family-friendly activities at this FREE event. Plus, find food trucks, specialty coffees and margaritas for purchase. The Brotherhood Tour makes a stop in Butte County. As the pride of East LA, Los Lobos (pictured here) has been perfecting—since the 1970s—their signature blend of Mexican folk, rock, blues and a little zydeco that wins them the title of versatility. The multi-platinum and multi-Grammy winning group has released 21 albums and numerous singles. The Grammy-winning Los Lonely Boys is a trio of brothers hailing from Texas. They bring their Texican rock ‘n’ roll that combines Texas blues, brown-eyed soul, country and Tejano music. Expect to hear cuts from their latest album, Resurrection. This is your first opportunity of the season to rent equipment for a float on the gentle waters of the Forebay. Kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, peddle boats, water and sand toys, and more are available. Make it a family picnic either day, plus check special offer for Mother’s Day, May 11. If you can’t make it this weekend, then experience the Forebay by moonlight on Monday eve, May 12. Witness a sunset over the mountains, the moon rising from the east while hearing the music of the birds, and other wildlife that call the Forebay their home. Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers

These prodigies started at a very young age performing as the opening act for giants in the R&B world. Today, this multi-Grammy winning family all display their musical talents both collectively and on solo projects. Victor stands out as a master bassist, and with his brothers, they deliver a variety of genres including jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock and bluegrass in “The Wootinish-way”. Tickets start at $48.48.
