Concow kids get campus

Concow School students displaced by the Camp Fire will have their own campus when classes resume countywide Monday (Dec. 3), with the Golden Feather Union School District reopening Spring Valley School.

The Butte Valley site, on Pentz Road by Highway 70, closed in 2010 due to low enrollment. It’s 15 miles from Oroville, where the district said in a news release that most of its displaced families are residing. Spring Valley will accommodate students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade.

Staff and community members have been moving materials from Concow School, installing internet hardware, cleaning and landscaping the facility.
