Chico Theater Company
166 Eaton Road
The iconic story of a matchmaker finding love, Hello, Dolly! returns to Chico just in time for Valentine’s Day. This Broadway classic was also adapted into a 1969 film, remaining one of Barbra Streisand’s most famous roles. Known for songs such as “Before the Parade Passes By,” the musical follows Dolly Levi’s meddlesome misadventures in love as part of CTC’s yearlong 22nd anniversary season. Chosen as 2025 Best Theater Company, CTC is consistently one of Chico’s favorite venues to see a stage play. Tickets online for this all-ages show are $30-$32. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Chico Women’s Club
592 E. Third St.
Canadian-born singer-songwriter Steve Poltz brings his folk-rock charm back to Chico. His “accidental poetry” vocals fuel a heartwarming, high-energy set mixing fast-paced, folksy rock with deeply personal ballads. Poltz’s latest release, his 14th solo album Joyride on Red House Records, is a 10-track collection featuring “If It Leads It Bleeds.” The show marks his return to this venue after a sold-out performance last December. All-ages show with tickets online, or available without service charges at Pullins Cyclery and The Music Connection in Chico. See the CN&R calendar for more information.

Marty O’ Reilly, plus Pat Hull
Fri Feb. 6, 7:00pm
Argus Bar + Patio
212 W. Second St.
Marty O’Reilly is returning to the Argus for his third appearance, now in support of his upcoming album Rhinefarm. A former contestant on TV’s The Voice, this musician brings a style combining folksy blues, taking its roots from classic Americana. Also performing is Chico’s own Pat Hull. Balancing life as a songwriter, father and Chico State educator, a 2025 NSPR interview reveals how he wears many hats, as he aims to “serve the moment” in each role. A Connecticut native, Hull credits Chico’s welcoming community with helping him find his musical path. Known for soulful acoustic songwriting, this Chico favorite was previously recognized as Best Male Vocalist at the CAMMIES awards. Tickets online or at the door for this 21+ show. See the CN&R calendar for more information.

Nick Hexum with Water Tower
Sat Feb 7, 9:00pm; Doors open 8:00pm
Lost on Main
319 Main St.
Singer-songwriter and frontman of alternative rock band 311, Nick Hexum (shown here) is coming to Chico as part of his Nothing but the Truth tour. Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Hexum and 311 have sold over 9 million albums since forming in 1990. Moving away from 311’s alternative rock grunge sound, The Nick Hexum Quartet began exploring his love of jazz and soul in 2013, and as a soloist, he favors acoustic and funk-pop jams. This Chico show also features Water Tower. The Los Angeles–based five-piece group combines bluegrass with punk rock energy. Originally named The Water Tower Bucket Boys, then shortened to Water Tower in 2012, they released their first album Fly Around in 2020. Tickets online, or without service fees at the Down Lo or Diamond W Western Wear in Chico. Must be 21+. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.
