Strung Nugget Gang
Fri Jan. 23, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Mulberry Music Station

Get a taste of “twisted bluegrass” when this four-piece Americana blues band rolls into Chico. Formed in 2012, the group features lead vocalist and mandolin player Scott Grigoruk, guitarist Brett Johnson, bassist Chelsea Codorniz (Johnson’s daughter), and fiddle player Zach Mundy. Oroville-based, the band has released two studio albums, Saloon and High Grade, blending blues and Americana influences. “Back in the day,” Johnson recalls, “we used to go to Sierra Nevada Brewery and see all these great local bands, and they ended up being a big inspiration to us.” A familiar presence in the local music scene, they regularly perform at Chico venues. Their upcoming stop at Mulberry Music Station is all ages, with a $5 cover supporting the band. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

The program blends ballet, jazz, and hip-hop, woven together through dynamic, African-rooted storytelling and sharp, contemporary movement. New artistic leadership took the helm in 2021, marking a fresh chapter and the formal adoption of the “II” name. The troupe’s stop at Chico State’s Laxson Auditorium is part of a 39-city tour that launched in September 2025. Tickets are available online. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.
