This Broadway rock musical is an emotionally-charged play that dives into the complex world of mental health, family and finding a sense of normality during hard times. Show director Matthew Teague Miller says, “Whether you’re a long-time lover of musical theatre or someone interested in media about mental health, this show has something powerful to say to everyone.” Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors; $10 for youth and Chico State students.
Love Letters to California and Spell It Out: An Intersection of Art and Language

Ellery Akers camped in the California wilderness alone for months to create artwork and poetry. Her drawings, paintings and poetry will be featured during this eight-week exhibition. The second exhibit titled Spell It Out, will showcase the beauty of communication, utilizing typography in everything from sculptures, mixed media and digital art. Singer/songwriter Zach Hurd relocated from Maine to L.A. attempting to explore fun and creative sounds, resulting in the indie pop band Bay Ledges. The project blew up in popularity after Hurd’s single “Safe” jumped to the number three spot on Spotify. His band is now touring across the U.S. sharing selections from their newest album, Rivers. Phantom Falls, Lost Objects, Oblong

Vibe out with a taste of Oakland’s post-punk indie music scene from Lost Objects (pictured). The triple bill includes local rock bands Phantom Falls and Oblong. This NorCal hybrid of music groups will drive you to kick back and dance for the entire show. Open to all ages, $10 cover.
Surf Noir Kings

Let your ears take a trip to the ocean with original surf music created by guitarist Miles Corbin. This band blends spaghetti westerns, psychedelic and Latin rhythms to take you on a beach vacation. Robert Kerch strums his guitar, Jerry Morano slams on percussion and Mark Wilpolt is behind the bass. The event is free.
