CN&R Q&A: Chico City Council candidates weigh in on the issues

A majority of Chico’s registered voters have homework to do this election cycle. Of the City Council’s seven districts, representatives for four of them will be chosen in the Nov. 5 General Election. Each district has a head-to-head match-up, meaning there are a total of eight candidates, only two of whom are incumbents. As always, the CN&R has given everyone in the race a chance to weigh in on the big issues—think homelessness, the housing crisis and climate change—and give insight into their vision for our community’s future. One of them, District 3 incumbent Dale Bennett, did not respond to repeated emails and phone messages from the CN&R. However, we thank the others for informing voters by participating in this long-established civic exercise.

General Election ballots are expected to be mailed out early next week. In the meantime, voters who are unsure of the district in which they reside can click here for an interactive map.
