Brad DuFour
Thur, April 9, 8:00pm– 10:30pm
Argus Patio + Bar
212 W. 2nd St.
Originally from Red Bluff, musician Brad DuFour began honing his solo acoustic sound in 2017 while continuing to perform with his band Brothers in the Oven, which features his own brother, drummer Greg DuFour. Since then, he’s become a familiar presence at Chico venues, including this return visit to Argus. As a solo artist, DuFour has released several albums, among them Solstice, recorded in a single session in San Jose. Expect his upcoming performance to showcase his stripped-down arrangements in an intimate, acoustic style. Tickets online. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Banff Mountain Film Festival
Fri, April 10 & Sat, April 11; 7:30pm-9:30pm
Laxson Auditorium
400 W. First St.
This popular, independent film festival returns to Chico for two nights—with different story selections each night—centered on adventure and exploration. Originally launched in Alberta, Canada, the touring collection of short films has evolved into an international film fest, showcasing short and longer films that explore all aspects of embracing nature in a storytelling format. This year’s lineup features 16 films, including Best Day Ever, which follows two physically-disabled mountain bikers as they build a trail for other adaptive athletes. Some films may include adult language and content. Doors open at 7pm and there’s also a warm-up party on the patio at 6pm that includes music, food trucks and beverages. Tickets online. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

The Cosmic Cowboys
Sat, April 11, 7:00pm-9:00pm
Mulberry Music Station
175 E. 20th St.
This five-piece country western band is returning to this fan-favorite venue, bringing their Outlaws Country-vibe with the high energy that concert goers can dance to. Their style is an intentional departure from “pop country” and has been part of the venue’s Saturday Night Live music series since it rebranded as Mulberry Music Station in 2025. Tickets online, or without service fees at the door, $10. All ages. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Tim Meadows–Comedy
Sat, April 11, 9:00pm; Doors open 8:00pm
Feather Falls Casino, Lodge & Brewery
3 Alverda Dr, Oroville
Something funny is heading to Butte County. Saturday Night Live alum and comedian Tim Meadows brings his stand-up act to the stage for a one-night performance. Meadows joined SNL in 1991 and remained a core cast member for ten seasons, making him one of the longest-running performers in the show’s history. He’s also widely recognized for his role in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls, and has continued a steady run of television work, most recently appearing in the Peacock series DMV. This 21 and over show is his first appearance in the Chico area. Tickets online. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Phantom Falls, David Coppin Lanegan, Mars Robinson, Scout Parker
Wed, April 15,·7:30 – 10:00pm
Naked Lounge
118 W. 2nd St.
It’s a full house Wednesday night with four different acts. Scout Parker (aka Scout the Wise) has become a fixture in Chico music. Working solo, his original lyrics are combined with blending beats and synths into a hybrid style of indie-pop. Chico’s Mars Robinson is a singer-songwriter / acoustic performer that you’ll sometimes see in a band or working solo with his delivery of indie / folk / pop-leaning acoustic. The crew named Phantom Falls (shown here)—not to be confused with the visual wonder on Table Mountain—met at Butte College and started playing shows in late 2021. They’re alternative rock, with their own, unique slacker rock. Calling Ellensburg, Washington home base, David Coppin Lanegan does spoken word and experimental music performances, when he’s not with his punk band back home, The Black Velvet Band. He’s making a tour of the Pacific Northwest, with Chico being one of his few California stops. Doors open at 7pm for this all-ages show. $10 at the door. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.
