Campana Sobre Campana: Christmas in Mexico

Christmas magic with a special flair comes to Laxson Auditorium courtesy of Campana Sobre Campana. Inspired by this Andalusian Christmas carol, it blends Spanish songs and folklore, putting a unique twist on the traditional Christmas story. Witness the Three Kings — Los Reyes Magos — bringing gifts to the baby Jesus, from a different cultural perspective. Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar and Ballet Folklorico del Rio Grande have brought their colorful music and dance to various campuses and large venues all over California, sharing their rich, Mexican tradition. Kelly Twins Annual Holiday Show

Chris and Jon Kelly began their musical journey in 2008 during an impromptu performance showcasing their “dueling pianos” jazz style at the Chico restaurant, 33 Steaks, Booze & Jazz. The identical twin musicians are also known for having an all-request format and are open to playing a wide range of popular music, making them an energetic crowd pleaser. Now they’re returning to Argus, and this show has limited seating. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with energizing, danceable music, while supporting a worthy cause. Local musicians are uniting to deliver just that. Arriving on stage will be: Debajito (shown here) with their Latin-style fusion of cumbia, ska, reggae, hip-hop and salsa; indie/alternative rock group Los Clown Bloods; Four-member crew Yahmo—blues rockers with a little Hendrix influence; and DJs Linda and Leo keeping it going non-stop. Proceeds help support the work of NorCal Resist–Chico chapter, providing services for low-income, homeless, and other marginalized communities. The Sun Followers

Ben Ruttenberg and Samantha Francis have been performing together as the folk music group the Sun Followers for more than 10 years, releasing their first album Anywhere You Take Me, in 2020. In 2023, they took their catalog of original music all the way to Italy, playing in small venues and restaurants. Francis also continues her love of music, offering her skills as a music teacher to new students. The indie acoustic duo is returning to The Barn, performing favorites in this holiday show. Candlelight: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac

Don’t expect a rock concert but rather a live, instrumental reinterpretation of several Fleetwood Mac favorites by a string quartet. The global company Fever specializes in live, immersive experiences, including their worldwide Candlelight series. On this December return visit to Chico, Fever will again only light the Women’s Club with hundreds of candles (LED) for this multi-sensory experience. The tentative playlist includes Don’t Stop, Go Your Own Way, Landslide, Rhiannon and more. Children at least 8 years old are welcomed, accompanied by an adult.
