Hairspray the Musical

It’s 1962 in Baltimore and irrepressible teen Tracy has her heart set on a shot at the popular “Corny Collins Show.” Audiences can’t resist to dance along with their girl in this Tony Award-winning musical. Rick Estrin & The Nightcats

As a young harmonica player and vocalist, Rick Estrin jammed with several musicians including blues legend Muddy Waters. Today, with fellow band members multi-instrumentalist Kid Andersen, keyboardist Lorenzo Farrell and drummer Derreck “D-Mar” Martin, they’ve released several albums that deliver Chicago blues, uptown funk and roadhouse rock that grooves into a distinctively modern blues sound. The Pharcyde, Apollo Snow, DJ 50

Hailing from South Central Los Angeles, the Pharcyde crew (shown here) broke the hip hop world with their debut album Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde, trailblazing a new sound. The group continues to tour and record, both collaboratively and in solo projects. The Chico show includes local rapper Apollo Snow and DJ 50. Must be 21+. Jazz Legend Patience Higgins & Friends

With a background in jazz, swing, bebop and gospel, saxophonist Patience Higgins is a master of several reed and horn instruments. Member of NYC’s Ellington Orchestra, he has performed and toured with numerous celebrated musicians. For this special live jazz concert Higgins is joined by: jazz pianist and native of Red Bluff, Devin Penner; Chico’s own bass player Greg D’Augelli; and local drummer Robert Delgardo. This combo of powerhouse talent all comes together for a cause—proceeds go to the continued restoration of the historic Chico Veteran’s Hall, monca’s home. Tickets at the door: $35 ($25 for seniors & $15 for students). Kyle Smith Bad for Business 2025 Tour

Singer/songwriter Smith offers his blend of SoCal-style reggae with ska, punk rock and hip hop. Inspired by a rough upbringing, his music is intended to bring hope and positive vibes through his raw talent on guitar and vocals. Smith will be playing with special guests The Flip, a genre-bending band from Portland. $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
