Diggin Dirt at Lost on Main

Spend your Halloween jamming out with this Humboldt County seven-piece funk-soul band. Diggin Dirt combines smoking horns, jamming guitars, grandiose rhythms and lively lyrics. Coming Out for Art: “Space To Be”: Opening Reception and Craft Fair

A celebration of LGBTQ identities that invites artists and audiences to explore the works of LGBTQ+ artists. Opening reception Nov. 1 at 4:00pm. Get the chance to purchase works directly from the folks who made the art. MONCA’s website describes it as a chance to “Immerse yourself in a vibrant evening of art, conversation, and community. This is more than just an exhibition—it’s a declaration of queer existence and a tribute to the courage it takes to live openly.” Visit the CN&R calendar for more information.

Eternamente: A Día de los Muertos Spectacular!

Enjoy the Day of the Dead with a performance by the Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar and Ballet Folklorico del Rio Grande. Celebrate a homage to Mexico’s cultural holiday with music, traditional dancing, costumes and a virtual altar. The blockbuster show will be a tribute to the dead and showcase the “beauty of remembrance” according to the Chico Performances website. Tickets $31-$51; $17 for youth age 17 and under and Chico State students.

50th Annual Almond Bowl

Nov. 3, 5k at 8:00am and 10k at 8:10am

Lower Bidwell Park, South Park Drive

Put on your running shoes and pick up the pace for this annual 5K/10K run in Lower Bidwell Park. The race will begin on South Park Drive and finish near the Sycamore field. The entry price for the race will also get you a race shirt from Upper Park, a race bib, and post-race snacks. This race will also support local high school cross country teams and band programs. Registered runners will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win some goods. Check the CN&R website for more information.

Quinteto Latino

Get a musical taste of Latino culture by a nationally recognized dynamic wind quintet that supports the Latino music scene. Founded in 2004 by French horn player Amando Castellano, the group had a mission to perform cultural music significant to Latino communities and support Latino composers. Tickets $41; $17 for youth age 17 and under and $17 for Chico State students.
