DA continues PG&E probe

Following Cal Fire’s announcement last Wednesday (May 15) that PG&E’s equipment caused the Camp Fire, Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey told the CN&R his criminal investigation into the utility remained ongoing.

“It was fairly apparent from the beginning that the cause and origin of the fire was the transmission line from the Pulga area,” Ramsey said.

He added that the District Attorney’s Office—with assistance from Cal Fire, the state Attorney General’s Office and other law enforcement agencies—will continue its investigation to determine whether PG&E and/or any individuals should face criminal charges.
