Smokey the Groove with Sunny Acres

Jump in for a galactic rage-a-delic, jazz funk experience with two rocking favorites. Smokey the Groove (pictured) will bring out a full horn section and intense bass that will leave the dance floor wild. Sunny Acres will provide a psychedelic, space punk sound to the venue, filled with sweet guitar, intense bass and non-stop drums. Broken Compass Bluegrass

This Nor Cal string band includes Kyle Ledson who picked up the fiddle when he was three-years-old, and later influenced by bluegrass and the jam-band scene. Broken Compass Bluegrass is a quartet that plays their style of bluegrass that promises foot-stomping fun. Check the CN&R calendar for more information.

Peter Rowan

Grammy-award winner and member of Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, Peter Rowan has been a singer-songwriter for more than five decades. Beginning his career in 1963, he spent early years as a singer, guitarist and songwriter for the Bluegrass Boys. He’ll be accompanied by Broken Compass Bluegrass. Celebrate New York New Year’s Eve at MONCA

Celebrate the new year a few hours earlier with this East Coast-style event. There will be live music and dancing, a photo booth and food. The no-host bar will include a complimentary glass of champagne to raise a toast when the NYC ball drops at 9:00pm. Tickets $30 for the public and $15 for members and volunteers.

Blu Year’s Eve with Thumpasaurus and Blue Egyptian

The Chico quartet Blu Egyptian pioneered the genre Prog-Jam, a breed of funk, Latin, reggae, bluegrass and rock n’ roll. They will be joined by Thumpasaurus, a band with their own unique blend of punk/funk with experimental sounds and appearance. DJ 12 Gage will keep music going throughout the night.
