- Election Coverage – In their words. A majority of Chico’s registered voters have homework to do this election cycle. Of the City Council’s seven districts, representatives for four of them will be chosen in the Nov. 5 General Election. Each district has a head-to-head match-up, meaning there are a total of eight candidates, only two of whom are incumbents. As always, the CN&R has given everyone in the race a chance to weigh in on the big issues:

Its critics warn it could backfire Among the blitz of election ads flooding TV, social media and street corners, you won’t see any opposition to a ballot measure proposing to lock in billions of dollars to pay doctors more for treating low-income patients.
