The Screenprint Biennial Artist Panel & Opening Reception

View the featured work of 23 contemporary artists in this 10-year anniversary, and the first West Coast edition, of the Screenprint Biennial. Biennial founder, Nathan Meltz, visiting artist Sheila Goloborotko and Turner Museum curator Rachel Skokowski will host a conversation followed by the opening reception of the exhibit. Both events are free. Exhibit runs through Dec. 13.

Inspired by artists like Etta James, Wynonna Judd and Joan Jett, Laura combines that sound with 50s and 60s pop hits from her family’s jukebox to fuel her musical influence. Singing Elvis’ songs with her sisters in home concerts, her love of country music came early, being drawn to the genres storytelling. She’s also a U.S. Air National Guard spokesperson, radio host and even children’s book author. See website for more info.

Pamela Parker and Local Anthology

Fuel up on a mix of rock, gospel and R&B as Pamela Parker delivers the sound of the San Francisco music scene with powerful vocals and guitar riffs. She and her band will be joined by Local Anthology, a Tahoe based band founded by Harrison Russell and Motor Boat Mick, drawing on influences from 90s progressive funk rock and live electro dub reggae. General admission starts at $17.85 including a $2.85 fee.

45th Annual Durham Harvest Festival

Sept. 15, 7:30am-4:00pm
Durham Community Park
1847 Durham-Dayton Hwy, Durham

The Durham Rotary club is hosting this family-friendly fundraising event. There will be a morning pancake breakfast, followed by lunch with hot dogs, tri-tip sandwiches and beverages. This year’s arts and crafts fair is expected to have around 40 participants, selling their wares until 4:00pm. A car show featuring antique vehicles, trucks and muscle cars will be on display including restored tractors and engines. Visit website for more details.

KZFR’s 20th Annual Touch of Chico

Sept. 15, 12 Noon-4:00pm
Chico Creek Nature Center
1968 E. Eight St.

Relax with a $1-a-minute massage to help support Chico’s local community-run radio station at this holistic health fair. More than 40 body workers, healers and intuitives are volunteering this year, according to the KZFR website. The fair includes presentations, live music, food, vendors and educational booths. This event is free to attend.
