Coming from Cincinnati Ohio, In The Pines plays a mix of country, bluegrass, blues and oldies. Their newest album, Painting By Numbers, was recorded in Rock Island, IL and released last September. Free to the public.

Check out interactive art from Chikoko and friends in this multisensory immersive art show. Pieces by Nel Adams, Claire Fong, Cameron Kelly and more. Opening reception Sept. 6, from 6pm-8pm. Check website for more info.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Infest the West Tour, with The Schizophonics, Still Animals and DJ Thirst n Howl

This punk rock super group, formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 90s, is famously known worldwide as a high energy cover band. Their Infest the West tour will be joined by The Schizophonics, a rock group from San Diego and Still Animals, basement rock ‘n’ roll from St. Louis. Tickets $28 plus fees.

The Wild Guys

Sept. 6 to Sept 22, 7:30pm on Thursdays, Fridays Saturdays; 2:00pm Sundays

Watch four men spend their weekend in an isolated cabin in the woods in this play. Things go wrong and Andy, Robin, Randall and Stewart have to work together to survive their ‘wildman’ weekend, according to the Chico Theater website. Adult tickets $24, Senior (65 and older) $22 and Youth (12 and under) $22.

Tower of Power

Chico Performances kicks off the season with the big sound of this funk and soul band. Originating from Oakland, they’ve been performing since 1968. Over time their music has changed and evolved, according to their website. Stephen (“Doc”) Kupka is the founding member, responsible with writing most of the song catalog along with Emilio Castillo. Tickets are $53-$73; $17 for youth age 17 and under and Chico State students.
